Bad fuel leak on 300sdl

I just finished fixing the massive fuel leaks on my Mercedes. boy that was super fun. It all started with a couple of pinhole leaks in the hard metal fuel lines from the injection pump to the injectors. apparently the previous owner did not have the clips installed to stop the lines from vibrating and rubbing. apparently a common occurrence on these old Mercedes Benz diesels. After replacing 5 of the 6 lines and installing the proper hardware to avoid this happening again (one line was back-ordered and I’m still waiting for it to come in.) i decided to replace the line from the inline filter to the fuel thermostat, well after my test drive i noticed quite a bit of fuel around the primer pump. I tightened everything up and it seemed fine. After i got dressed and left for work i noticed a smell and the vapor trail of fuel in my review mirror. i pulled over, donned my blue nitrile gloves and promptly bypassed the fuel heater/thermostat, checked for leaks and went on my merry way. Not sure if i need a fuel thermostat, but the car drives the same.
